Winter term for Uni~

It was a bit more hectic but relaxing.. I kinda regret somethings, but I’m so happy I did what I had to. Because if took a crazy course load and got sick then it’d be such a waste! I got really sick in February, and I was really worried because i was behind with some subjects but I had to pick myself up. My mom isn’t here to help me if I’m sick you know? I don’t want to be a burden always saying that I’m sick. I still overcame somethings!! I learned never sign a contract unless you are 100000000% sure because i kind of regret signing a contract, MAYBE because I’m not a committed person.. 

I realized that I learned a lot more than I did from September - December. I learned that you can’t get your way ever! I realized some people can be haters and you have to brush them off because haters aren’t gonna get you no where. People will discourage me but my reaction to their hate is what makes or breaks me. 

I realized the world isn’t all colourful or cute. No sunshine or flip flops like in UAE.. It’s more like boots and winter jackets.

Today it’s March 30th.. almost April 1st.. I got to wear no jacket this week for the first time since December i was happy!! Words couldn’t describe the fact I was wearing a sweater or a leather jacket out, even though snow was on the floor i fought the weather and went out.

I learned a lot in the past few months that it can so funny yet creepy! Can someone really change or develop so much in such a short amount of time? I really wonder sometimes because I just opened my eyes to reality for the first time.. I was so blinded when I lived in the Arab world.. Which necessarily isn’t a bad thing though. But still there’s just so much that happened I sometimes wonder “Dang girl, how did you get yourself here?”

One thing that I love about living in Ottawa is my university.. I study in Carleton University aka The capital University of Canada (Who knows if this advertisement is correct or not but that’s what the site says and i’d love to brag for them because Carleton University deserves it). I love how Carleton seems like it’s own little weird world.. With a building for every little thing, the trees, nature, the o-train passing by, the weird couples.. And sometimes you think “oh being in Carleton is like being in my high school Maali”, because there’s just way too much arab people.. maybe because i’m studying engineering but whoa! The first week i didn’t know anywhere.. why? Because I have the worst brain map of life.. If the building is right in front of me i’ll run half across the uni and get lost then ask randoms for help (which they’re beyond sweet). Mistakes I learned in the uni was i wasn’t able to catch up with some readings that it was sad.. but then again it was my first time with the whole new system I know what to do next term and what not to do.

My aunt was getting married and I got to experience that “family member” getting married thing you know.. It was definitely amazing just seeing the love my family has for each other is awesome.. I love how they had each other’s backs, or my aunt’s friends who had her back. It was really cute too 

I made friends with new people.. learned a bit of the bus system in Ottawa. I noticed life itself somehow enhanced! But sometimes I get that golden question “Do you miss your family?” Well if i keep thinking of my family i know i wouldn’t function well because i know the first day i got back i cried and i told myself to go past it so i never really think about my family because if i sit and start remembering i’ll just cry.. and my family’s basically right in front of me thanks to skype, facebook and what not.. so sometimes you wont really feel that they’re half across the universe!

If there’s something in this world that i don’t take lightly it iss friendship.. I guess I take it too serious sometimes, maybe because I can easily get attached to someone but I don’t of course start getting attached so quick. Since I’ve got trust issues, it takes longer for me to realize who’s a real friend or who’s not. If I see the person is genuine and they’re trusting important things to me, only then I can open my heart to someone… Well basically I learned from a couple of friendships in the past that sometimes friends aren’t forever maybe bff shouldn’t have the last f cs nothing is really infinite in this universe.. unless Allah decides to make something infinite!!

From the time i started high school till today I’ve got friends walking in and out of my life.. Back then thoughts like ‘oh what can i do? can i open my heart to someone else? Can i even make friends at all?’ Now-a-days I/m so chill if you don’t wanna be my friend I’m just gonna take it coolly and move on because i’m just use to it;  not in a bad way honestly i’m actually happy sometimes when someone leaves ‘yay that burden walked out’.

I know i’m so harsh but that’s how i am after experiencing shit in my life i’d care less now than I did maybe 2 years ago but that’s the old Sia. The new Sia is just more open minded and less conservative. This is probably because i took the conservative side from my dad. My mom is more free spirited and very open minded. When i was 9 up until i was 13 years old, I lived with my dad and my little brother so i ended up taking a few of his habits I guess. But then i lived with my mom when i turned 14-19 years old. During that time i noticed my mom was the opposite! She’s too cool and I ended up learning a lot living with her. So now I’m a mix of both I’m too conservative when it comes to religious issues example if something is Haram or Halal. I really like to respect my religion, so i don’t bother trying to do something bad, though I am not the best Muslim around.I am more lenient with somethings like judging people, though I’m starting to be closed-minded these days.. which is really sad. 

Only if you are a very close friend can you hurt my feeling and usually close friends in my book aren’t really friends they’re more like my sister.. only my sister can hurt my feelings not my friend… That’s y when i get attached i don’t get attached like oh she’s my best friend attached.. It’s more like a sisterly attachment.. and i can only feel that way for few people in this world ♥ The harshness is usually for the randoms and people i’d care less for in this world.. No offense to you though because who knows maybe you are irrelevant today but maybe you’ll not be tomorrow..

Hopefully no one takes this to heart because i don’t have many friends anyway! LOOOOL OH BTW I’M SO THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO SKIPS TOPICS here and there.. I hope you eon’t take my article too seriously. =]

This title means a lot to me because of course I’ve been through many new beginnings 

• Choosing to live in the emirates at the age of fourteen.. Even though i had a back ticket to Canada.. 
• That time I had to cut a friend off earlier this year because not only she was tearing herself apart she was ruining the friendship meaning there was no other strings attached.. It made me realize she aint the friend I knew 5 years ago
• the tears I shed the end of 2010 in 12th grade that technically changed my life forever 
• The most recent one which was leaving the UAE to move back to Canada to go to university.. so i wouldn’t get spoon fed anymore
• Doing things, getting and finding my way back, getting money and using it.

Basically all these new beginnings always teach me how to make my decisions and starting over again and again.. I guess i’m use to it right know and now I know how to start all over again, how to pick off where I left things off… Its all about telling yourself you can do it and just flip that page in your life.. 

TIP: YOU REALLY CAN DO IT AND MOVE ON.. Don’t say tomorrow say now like this second.. PUH-LEESE don’t give yourself excuses for tomorrow or an hour later.. Just let it all go

After choosing one of the MOST biggest decisions of my life which was leaving the UAE and moving back to Canada for the first time in five years was definitely the most easiest decision to do at first.

I thought travelling back was going to be scary as i didn’t have any previous travelling experience by myself… It was always with the help of someone. The biggest reason why I choose to move out of the Emirates was because I didn’t want to be spoon fed anymore… I didn’t want to depend on anyone, bother or be less responsible than i already was at that time.. I wanted to become my own person gain my own self independence.. I guess i didn’t know who i was back then, but i do wonder if I really know myself right now you know? 

When I came back to Ottawa (capital city), I noticed it didn’t really change it’s the same old Ottawa it was 5years ago.. the only thing that changed was the people and also adjusting to the new systems that i stopped 5years ago.. I mean not in a bad way I just mean everyone aged.. LOOOL maybe only few people aged backwards.. like seriously it’s funny because in UAE if you are away for  a bit you might not recognize the city anymore… New buildings streets are built constantly that’s probably the cool part of the Emirates they’re very accepting to the whole change idea but sometimes it can be to the next level.  

Of course it’s been 4 months right now… I finished my first university fall term few days ago, and I guess that experience was great! I learned so much in these past four months.. I got the independence i wanted.. I made cards to weird places, membership, made new friends and started to understand the real meaning of family. 

I remembered the day I cried to my mom telling her i want to go back (first day I was in Ottawa).. and looking at today i really am proud i made this decision.. I love it here, and i wouldn’t have it any other way because it’s just so fun here.. There’s always something to do here. Right now i’m visiting my family in the states and travelling there wasn’t so difficult I guess i’m not that shaken up about anything anymore proving I became stronger as a person. Of course there’s still a long way to go from here.. because it’s just the first term but there will be still a couple of more years to uni.. a couple of more years i might move back to UAE again or not? Who knows ;)?

My passport was going to expire so i went to with my mom to the canadian embassy in abu dhabi.. Had subway for lunch in ADmall since the embassy is also in ADmall.. Then i went to doctors cs my mom was sick, soon after we went to go baby shopping because my baby cousin was coming to town.. We bought her a poddy training thing too bad she’s so small she doesn’t need it maybe her big brother Adam can take it.. Well i took some pics of my adventure that day.. 

Went to paris gallery and ended up checking some of the makeup.. totally expensive but worth it :) and if you are an inspirit like Infinite fan look at my infinite bracelet **Fan squeals**

I need to bring a lil kid here.. youngest kid in my house is 10 n she’s like a teenager hahahaha.. need a 5yr old cousin or something.. 

Went to adidas and saw this chelsea shirt..made me think of my girl moony n wish i got her this as a bday gift :( n it got samsung **yay korea hahaha*

went to ADU.. and there was a global day event.. For some odd reason i didn’t take a pic of the korean side only got attracted to the japanese side.. it was really nice though..and i met a really sweet japanese women wait she’s in my pic lool.. they did some shows it was really nice too bad i didn’t see it all haha

Kon is small baby cat that randomly came to our house 2010 August i believe? And he was burning from the hot sun and he use to sneak into our house without us knowing and stay there till the night! One day we caught it and i hated him so much cs i never had a pet and i didn’t know how to react with animals.. I remember it was gr.11 summer then.. But slowly everyone accepted him and we just loved his presence!! He was so adorable..the way he purred and just go around you was amazing! I miss him so much and it was so sad he died July 2011 his death anniversary is a few months from now.. I remember he hated blankets but he accepted it when it was super cold in the winter of the desert haha…i loved when he sat on my lap.. or when you’d play games with him! He use to hate our neighbours so much he’d scratch them if he sees them :o! I called him kon because he’s a scardy cat and he causes trouble too much like the bleach character kon

I miss you kon.. you look so peacefully sleeping in his cute little house 

First picture was from my window! I got so shocked I ran out with my sis and saw the cops and fire fighters were there.. I didn’t get closer because my sister is asthmatic.. You can tell from the second pic it’s a house being constructed and the funny thing is it means no one lives there :/..  

The first two pictures is a birthday party for my mom <3 We made it a surprise for my mother she didn’t know! It’s so funny because we made it a few days before and we thought heyy, let’s make a surprise party and collected as much as money as we can to get pastries drinks chips, cake, ballons..

The plan was on fridays my mom takes my brothers to pray.. One of my bros escapes my mom and says he’s going to get some quiz papers from his friend and the other should make an excuse to distract my mother!! While they were away i’d decorate the room with balloons!! hahaha and i didn’t want balloons just plain on the wall so i thought the I love you would be different and unique!! 
My brother who made the excuse with his friend went to go get the cakes, drinks pastries, chips.. But the problem was when my brother got out of the bakery my mom’s car passed by and she CAUGHT HIM!! Thank god he lied and said Safa (which is me) said to get me pastries and my mom said don’t you think of your sister she’s on a diet these days =___= LOOOL my mom fell for his lies! My other brother who made the excuse for my mom (NOT THE BEST EXCUSE) said “My head hurts”.. So they went in a long line at the doctors and my bro who got the cake and stuff ran away from them to go home!! HAHAHAHAHHA.. He comes home and we get the stuff ready!! Though my mom came 2hrs later while she was coming up the stairs we planned this idea that my little sister will act like she cleaned my mom’s room by herself without our maid’s help xD! She blindfolded my mom and then she came into the room with candles on and we said “SURPRISE!!!!!”… She was so shocked she’s said “Is this for me?” We said “YES”, and started singing for her and then she blew her candles and started laughing the whole time! she said i found it weird when Iba made these excuses about you having pastries =__=!! What’s funny is that day we acted like we didn’t care it was her bday and stuff but we reembered hehehehe<3

Yesterday was my bday (May 12).. I just turned 19 hehehe I wonder if that means i’m so badass? I knew it was my bday and I requested this cake..because it’s so darn awesome?! We went to pizza hut and had dinner there.. then picked my grandpa up from the airport

Got this from Face Shop well in zea concert they gave this for free :D!! ♥
Got to love Face Shop!! So it’s a pomegranate mask! It gives your skin a glow and lots of people use pomegranate for anti-aging skin use.. It also gives a natural face lift :O! The day i tried it i started laughing at my face in the mirror and freaked out hoping i wouldn’t look like that for long! The second time i tried it i put it on properly and i put it under my chin this time so it wont look like last time y’know.. It gave me great results i felt radiant the whole day like it said<3 I’ll buy it when i go to the store :)… I recommend this one if you are going somewhere important and you just want your face to look a bit more sharper then this is your savior!

Small tiny halls of charcoal absorbs dust or pollution. It helps clean dust from skin and pores and to make up. (I’m assuming to makeup as in the makeup you put on your face and it enters your pores it sucks it all out? LOL)  

It also instructs you to get the cleansing foam which you use after the cream.. You are probably wondering why use cream first..because the cream oils up your skin!! You will feel super oily.. guess my face got cleaned up completely? haha I wipe with a tissue first and then i get the cleansing foam and put it on my face with it’s cute bubbles :D

The results were amazing and people kept saying oh you are so bright these days =___= which makes me wonder was my skin so gloomy to begin with? LOL

It also instructs you to stop using it if it does something to your skin.. and did i say it was super cheap? it’s 7dirhams which is maybe 2 dollars and a maybe a pound for UK? (sorry if I did the wrong currency)! Diaso is like a dollerama or a buck-or-two (Canadian shops) but it means stuff that are a dollar or two :P

Next face products i’ll review will be face shop because when I went to a korean event they were selling stuff and gave me a gift box with green tea face mask, kiwi face scrubs i think, and rice water stuff, face toner..and sun screens! I GOT TO GO F.Shop shoppping like my mom did -____-.. i was so silly not to get anything!! 

Seaweed (Dan da daaa) **tryna make some suspenseful music**
This isn’t something i made up?! I got this from Michelle Pham.. She’s a very famous makeup guru on Youtube (Search her up).
Tried some seaweed on my face!You have to heat it up with water and then you wait for a bit and put it on your face.. it’s really soothing around my face but on my cheeks =____= it went a bit rough don’t know why.. so maybe from now on i’ll just put it around my face and not my cheeks! or i’ll try again and clarify some stuff??

If you are wondering what was my favourite face product it’s etude house by far!! I love the green face mask..I wanna go to korea and get it!
Btw i heard skin foods has a store in dubai… gonna go check it out one day.. <3 

After experiencing my first concert in my life.. well first indoor concert there is somethings you should do and things you shouldn’t do!

Top 5 Things :)

1. Charge phones, camera, (CHARGE IT ALL)

I charged my phone all night and i thought i didn’t need to during the day.. but boy was I wrong.. My bbm and twitter sucked my phones battery dry! What’s funny is that doesn’t usually happen.. :s But it did and just to be safe keep your phone in the charger all day long

2. Take good pictures
I didn’t take any pics yesterday i only did a fan vid..andi don’t think i should release it. Even though i had super low battery I forgot to take pics of the stars >.<

3. Go EARLY EARLY
Not one hour early try 2hours early.. The concert started at 5 and people were in line at two when i came 1hr and few minutes early! Whether it’s fanmeet or not just go early it’s more safer for you :)

4. Don’t get too angry or anything, Just be grateful that everyone worked so hard to get your favourite star to your country ♥

5. Make unique posters and do stuff to get yourselves noticed by the hot idol groups

I planned to go to the concert with my friends.. but then the girls said there is a huge line at the place and we split up to go as quick as possible and when i made it..IT WAS A BIG LINE!!

*This is my first fan account so i might go crazy and just go out of place hehe*

OMG.. They said the gates would open 4:15p.m, and i went around 3:40p.m.. It was true the line was so gigantic i got nervous.. i thought i was last but after few minutes few ppl came and the line became even more bigger loolz!!!

 When we came in the concert room and saw the stage area we had to wait for a bit.. Everyone was fan chanting “We want zea” or “Ha minwoo” and everyone screams “HA MINWOO” looool!! it was so cute ♥! We scream saranghae and all this fan chants.. It was so fun.. then a british man comes and says are you ready for zea? 4minutes left lool >..<! i was like no this can’t be happening! and everyone kept chanting louder and louder till the boys came out.The man did an intro for zea and UaelovesKorea..unnie made a speech.. When they did, everyone who stood up and screamed so loud!!

Dongjun and kwanghee left a message for the fans..i wish we met them both :( but the seven boys did amazing keeping us entertained..♥♥♥♥

They asked them questions but i could barely hear because fans were screaming.. i wish the microphones volume would be higher or the fans could have been a bit quieter :s.. But yeah while they were asking questions boys would wave at their fans hehehehe ♥ 

They performed All day long and it was amazing, flawless..(fangirling).. then they performed mozeltov… i just started singing and i was just so happy heheh.. but omg im scared i might come on kbstv..got to watch the news today!! :s hehe yeah kbs reporters came :)

They did a raffle prize and whoever won got a samsung s2 and the gift you would get the gifts from the boys.. minwoo was the cutest who kneeled on his knee for her :D ♥♥♥♥♥ Most romantic guy ever :$.. 2 out of maybe 7 girls shook hands with the boys..</3 
I didn’t know the raffle prize was by numbers i thought it was by names..i was shocked it was by numbers and so did most of my friends!! 

I thought the concert ended and it didn’t they came back and performed here i am :D!! i was so excited..kevin came and points the microphone to us and we started singing ahhh hhehe :$

• Green tea

This mask was amazing!! I thought my face would look really bad because I tried everything and nothing seemed to work as well as green tea mask.. It was good for 5 days..my face was so smooth :$.. like a baby or someone who put on cream and I only applied this once.. When the mask suddenly disappeared one day i was like NOOOO hahaha or  

If you want smooth face.. Green tea will help :)..

• Lychee Princess 3D mask

I didn’t understand 3D mask till i knew it kinda went up to my neck..
This mask didn’t give me pimples for awhile but at the same time it wasn’t as smooth as green tea mask..

Overall review 
In my opinion Green Tea mask for the win.. you totally feel refreshed..if that’s what you are aiming for!
